Joan Crawford & Rosa Ponselle sing VERDI'S REQUIEM ("Recordare")

Joan Crawford & Rosa Ponselle sing VERDI'S REQUIEM (Recordare)
Several opera stars, including Grace Moore and Lily Pons, made hits in movies in the mid 1930's, and given the appealing musical dimensions of Irene Dunne and Ginger Rogers' careers it is fully understandable that Joan Crawford's love of music would compel her to see where it could lead her professionally. Determined to develop a classically trained voice, Joan convinced Rosa Ponselle's vocal couch, Romano Romani, to spend extended time in sunny Southern California. By 1937 a 40 year old, recently retired Rosa Ponselle brought her new husband to live with her in Hollywood while she encouraged MGM to star her in a motion picture of Bizet's Carmen. Still considered even today the greatest female singer in operatic history, Ponselle's age and lack of sleekness were not automatic disqualifiers. Even though Gloria Swanson was treated like an ancient Hollywood has been at age 39, Irene Dunne was at the peak of her stardom though secretly as old as Swanson. Furthermore, Grace Moore! was incalculably heavier than Rosa Ponselle. Rosa Ponselle's authority never faded but the freshness and miraculous quality of her voice are not apparent in the MGM screentests of 1937. She seems nervous and relying on tricks that must have worked better in past performances, ultimately beating her fan faster and faster as if racing to the finish could compensate for her overfamiliarity with the material. SHANE DAWSON TELLS THE TRUTH!?

SHANE DAWSON TELLS THE TRUTH!?
READ BEFORE WATCHING: I have been following Shane Dawson since late 2009 or early 2010. At the time he was my inspiration and I absolutely loved him. I've been regularly watching his videos since. But lately I've seen nothing funny about his videos on his main channel (ShaneDawsonTV) I hate how everything is scripted to the very last word. Shane is obviously a funny guy, his old videos were simple but crazy and funny, and his talent could be seen in videos such as www.youtube.com www.youtube.com www.youtube.com and www.youtube.com This was the good Shane Dawson. But in about late 2010, or early 2011, his videos just lost his mojo. They're scripted to the tee and recorded using fancy software, and they're all predictable and not even funny anymore. I started to lose my respect for Shane when he released stuff like www.youtube.com www.youtube.com www.youtube.com and www.youtube.com I just feel they're so predictable and I'm not giggling even a little bit anymore. The only Shan! e I still watch really is his vlog channel: shane. This is the only videos he uploads that are funny and witty, and original! I like his Hang with Shane series. But I just can't watch his main videos anymore because they've just become terrible! Yeah, granted, I'm making fun of Shane in this video. The main thing I'm making fun of is how he advertises his shirts on Hot Topic all the time. Literally every competition, his shirts are a prize. He's always wearing them and holding them up against the ...
